Inman Aligners

Inman Aligners finishes treatment in 6-16 weeks and lost less than 50% of that clear aligners or braces
Inman Aligners are a removable orthodontic appliance worn for 23 hours a day, for a period as little as 6 – 16 weeks, capable of straightening and moving front teeth.
The main advantages of Inman orthodontic aligners are it is faster at straightening teeth than traditional braces or invisible aligners can be easily removed at any time to suit your lifestyle, and costs only a fraction of the alternative orthodontic treatments, as it requires only one appliance.

What are Inman aligners?

Unlike fixed wire braces or a series of clear aligners that work on a full arch of teeth in the mouth, an Inman Aligner is a single removable appliance designed to gently move the front four teeth only, meaning it is a much more affordable and non-invasive option for people who only require cosmetic corrections

The low forces and shorter treatment times make Inman orthodontics a very safe alternative to fixed braces or clear aligners.

Who is a candidate for Inman Aligners?

  • Inman Aligners are suitable for use by adults only, due to the continuing growth in children and teenagers.
  •  If you have mild to moderate crowding or protrusion of you front teeth you may well be a suitable candidate for Inman Aligner treatment.
  • Inman aligners can also be used in conjunction with other treatments such as bonding and whitening to create an entirely new smile.
  • Only a certified Inman Aligner dentist will be able to confirm the suitability of each individual case.

How does it work?

The Inman Aligner contains nickel-titanium spring coils that exert an equal squeezing effect using two opposing aligner bars. The pushing ‘lingual’ aligner gently squeezes the teeth towards the front of the mouth, whilst the outer ‘labial’ aligner pulls the teeth in, allowing the front or ‘anterior’ teeth to become aligned over time.

The Aligners mainly move the front teeth and incisors, but can also have an effect on moving cuspid teeth, however, it is unable to rotate cuspids based on the direction of force the aligner emits. Depending on the movement required, the size and compression of the spring coil can be adjusted

Frequently Asked Questions

What issues can Inman Aligners address?

Crowding, protrusions (or teeth pointing outwards), rotations and crossbites. It is also ideal for patients who have had orthodontic work in the past and are experiencing the movement of teeth or “orthodontic relapse”.

How often will I wear the Aligner?

The Inman Aligner should be worn for 23 hours every day for the course of treatment, removing only when eating and brushing your teeth. This is the same requirement as invisible clear braces such as Invisalign.

How long will I need to use the Aligners?

The course of treatment with Inman is fast. The less complicated corrections can be achieved in as little as six weeks. However, the time required can be anywhere up to six months. Mandibular or bottom teeth take less time to correct as they are smaller, requiring less bone remodelling to move.

How much does it cost?

Compared to clear aligners or fixed braces, Inman Aligners are significantly more affordable, as it only requires one single appliance, as opposed to a series of aligners, or regular visits to the orthodontist for adjustments and tightening of wires.

Will I need a retainer after treatment?

Like all orthodontic treatments, in some cases, a retainer may be required to prevent relapse (teeth moving back again). A retainer can be removable, or fixed and bonded at the back of the teeth. Dr Sapan will be able to recommend the appropriate maintenance and retention of your new smile, ensuring it can stay straight and beautiful for a lifetime.
